The 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and Comprehensive Transportation Plan were approved by the MPO on December 9.

Downtown Greenway Phase 4 will primarily follow the existing railroad tracks.

Draft 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan Amendment - This draft amendment considers a request from site developer to remove the Fleming-Lewiston  Connector and Interchange project from the area long range transportation plans. Written comments are due by August 5 at 5 pm. Also, anyone who wishes to do so may sign up in advance of the meeting to speak and express their views on the matter at the TAC meeting on August 10 at 2 pm. Sign up will close an August 9 at 5 pm.

The Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) manages the federally required transportation planning process for the area's highway, transit, bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

The Greensboro metropolitan planning area includes the City of Greensboro, the majority of unincorporated Guilford County, and the towns of Oak Ridge, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia, Stokesdale, and Summerfield.

The MPO is responsible for coordinating transportation planning activities with federal, state, regional, and local entities, represented by professional staff, elected officials, and appointed representatives.
